Playback theatre training in Tallinn is open for enrolment through the Core Training programme of the Baltic School of Playback Theatre and Psychodrama (BPTPS). This foundational course introduces improvisation, working with real audience stories, and the essentials of playback performance. It is a living art: people tell their stories of life and love, and the ensemble plays them back on stage right away. In fact, this form grew out of the international Playback Teātris movement. You don’t need to be an actor — it’s enough to want to try, to play, to listen, and to be heard.
Playback theatre training in Tallinn is new — and it is here to stay. Endel Hango first brought BPTPS Core Training to Estonia in Tartu. Now he is establishing regular Core Training in Tallinn. As a result, the city gets its own ongoing playback community, and this first intake opens that series.
Course leader
Endel Hango leads the course. He is an accredited Playback Theatre trainer and a Psychodrama TEP, the highest training level in psychodrama. Moreover, he founded the Tartu Theatre of Spontaneity and works closely with the Estonian Psychodrama Institute. As a result, the group learns from a teacher rooted in Estonia’s own theatre and psychodrama scene.

Format

We teach in Estonian, Russian, and English. Finally, every participant receives a Sertifikāts in Playback Theatre Core Training upon completion.
