SUMMARY:Playback Introductory Course for Riga Teachers
DESCRIPTION:On 21 October\, we invite Riga teachers to a free Playback introductory course. It offers a one-day\, hands-on introduction to improvisational theatre. In this method\, every voice matters. \nWhat Playback is\nPlayback is a form of improvisational theatre. It builds on real stories from the audience\, which the actors play back on the spot. In school\, Playback becomes a method where every voice matters. It works like an instrument. It helps the teacher build the group\, relationships\, and an emotional culture. \nWhy it is useful for a teacher\nA way to unite the class into a group\nPlayback gives a voice to the quiet ones. It eases tension between students. It also makes visible what usually stays off-screen during the lesson. \nA tool for developing emotional skills\nBy playing out stories\, children notice their own and others’ feelings. They learn to name their experiences. And they learn to truly hear one another. \nAn instrument in lessons and in class time\nThe method fits naturally into lessons. It works in literature\, history\, and social studies. It also supports pastoral and character-building work. \nWho leads the course\nBeata Bērziņa leads the course. She is a Playback practitioner and theatre director. She brings extensive experience of working with children and teenagers. \nWhen\, where\, and how to sign up\nDate: 21 October\, 11:00–17:00\nVenue: Hall of Rīgas Natālijas Draudziņas vidusskola\, Bruņinieku iela 24A\, Riga\nParticipation: free of charge — our supporters cover the course\, so Riga teachers pay nothing. \nWe have a limited number of places\, so sign up early. DESCRIPTION:Next stop: Vilnius! 🇱🇹The Baltic Playback journey continues. \nFirst we met in Liepāja\, then we travelled together with Vagabunda. This year\, we gather in Tallinn. Next year\, we bring the 4th Baltic Playback Theatre Forum to Vilnius. \n🎭 4th Baltic Playback Theatre Forum📍 Vilnius\, Lithuania📅 9–10 October 2027 \nTwo days to play\, learn\, share\, reconnect and meet new people from the Baltic Playback community and beyond. \nWe are only beginning to create the programme\, so there is much more to come. However\, one thing is already certain: save the date and come to Vilnius! \nWhat is playback theatre?\nPlayback theatre is improvised theatre. Audience members share real moments from their lives\, and then the actors play them back on the spot. \nBecause of this\, every performance is unique. Moreover\, it creates a rare kind of closeness\, even between people who have just met. \nWhat is the Forum?\nThe Forum moves from city to city. There\, people practise together\, share methods and watch each other’s work. As a result\, friendships between ensembles grow year after year. \nWhether you perform with an ensemble\, teach\, study\, or simply feel curious\, you are welcome. In other words\, you do not need years of experience to join us. \nWhy come to the Baltic Playback Theatre Forum?\nSimple moments can quickly unite complete strangers. That is why you will play\, learn from colleagues\, try new ideas and leave with new friends and fresh energy for your own work. \nFees: the earlier you register\, the less you pay\n\n€30: registration at the Tallinn Gathering\, 10–11 October 2026\n€40: 12 October – 31 December 2026\n€50: 1 January – 30 June 2027\n€60: 1 July 2027 until the Forumg\n\nTherefore\, registering early rewards those who commit first.
