Playback theatre training in Riga<\/strong> is open for enrolment year-round through the Core Training programme of the Baltic School of Playback Theatre and Psychodrama (BPTPS). This foundational course introduces improvisation, working with real audience stories, and the essentials of playback performance. It is a living art: people tell their stories of life and love, and the ensemble plays them back on stage right away. In fact, this form grew out of the international \u0422\u0435\u0430\u0442\u0440 \u041f\u043b\u0435\u0439\u0431\u0435\u043a<\/a> movement. You don’t need to be an actor \u2014 it’s enough to want to try, to play, to listen, and to be heard.<\/p>\n

Riga is where our programme has already taken root. We have run two Core Training courses here. First, we ran the course in November\u2013December 2025<\/a>. Then we held the second one in September\u2013October 2026<\/a>. We held both at “Willa Te\u0101tris”, Stabu 18C, with active local groups. Overall, this new intake continues that living tradition rather than starting from scratch.<\/p>\n

Course leader<\/h2>\n

\u0414\u043e\u043a\u0442\u043e\u0440 \u043f\u0441\u0438\u0445. \u041c\u0430\u0440\u0438\u044f \u0411\u0430\u043c\u0431\u0443\u043b\u044f\u043a<\/strong> is a psychodramatist and accredited Playback Theatre trainer (CPT, Centre for Playback Theatre<\/a>, New York). Moreover, she co-founded the Baltic School of Playback Theatre and Psychodrama, and she has led every Core Training in Riga to date. As a result, the group gains both academic depth and years of hands-on stage practice.<\/p>\n

Playback theatre training in Riga suits anyone drawn to improvisation, storytelling, theatre, or personal development. You need no prior stage experience. In addition, it works well for psychologists, teachers, actors, and facilitators who want to add playback to their practice.<\/p>\n

The course runs for 30 hours across two inspiring weekends, and we deliver it as two modules. Each weekend combines hands-on practice, group work, and reflection. We teach in Latvian, English, and Russian. Finally, every participant receives a \u0421\u0435\u0440\u0442\u0438\u0444\u0438\u043a\u0430\u0442<\/strong> in Playback Theatre Core Training upon completion.<\/p>\n
