DESCRIPTION:GALVA FEST — an independent youth music festival — comes to Liepāja on 30 August 2026. Young people don’t need to be told what music to play. They have their own music and their own creative work. What they need is a stage. \nThe Baltic Playback Theatre and Psychodrama School organizes GALVA FEST with the support of its sponsors. The festival brings nine young bands together on one stage: \nKIM TORI · FISHING BOY 666 · SALVETES IR ŠEIT · RASËNS · SERTRALIN · MELANHOLIKA · MOLRAGE · NUCLEAR CONFLICT · COLLOQUIUM \nFirst\, the festival opens with an exhibition of postmodern art. These are works by young authors who treat established forms\, meanings and rules as something to argue with. \nFor the school\, giving the next generation a real stage is part of a wider cultural mission. The goal is not to shape what young artists say\, but to make sure they are seen and heard. In addition\, the line-up spans a wide range of independent sounds. Together\, they offer a snapshot of what Liepāja’s young musicians are creating right now. \nAll of this happens at the «Wiktorija» culture house. The venue sits in a former cinema building where Liepāja’s independent spirit lives on. \nSo come to look and to see\, to listen and to hear. SUMMARY:Playback Introductory Course for Riga Teachers
DESCRIPTION:On 21 October\, we invite Riga teachers to a free Playback introductory course. It offers a one-day\, hands-on introduction to improvisational theatre. In this method\, every voice matters. \nWhat Playback is\nPlayback is a form of improvisational theatre. It builds on real stories from the audience\, which the actors play back on the spot. In school\, Playback becomes a method where every voice matters. It works like an instrument. It helps the teacher build the group\, relationships\, and an emotional culture. \nWhy it is useful for a teacher\nA way to unite the class into a group\nPlayback gives a voice to the quiet ones. It eases tension between students. It also makes visible what usually stays off-screen during the lesson. \nA tool for developing emotional skills\nBy playing out stories\, children notice their own and others’ feelings. They learn to name their experiences. And they learn to truly hear one another. \nAn instrument in lessons and in class time\nThe method fits naturally into lessons. It works in literature\, history\, and social studies. It also supports pastoral and character-building work. \nWho leads the course\nBeata Bērziņa leads the course. She is a Playback practitioner and theatre director.
